Jordache Gage (b. 1989, Brisbane) is a self-taught Abstract Surrealist Artist with over a decade of experience in both the public art and gallery realms. With a multicultural heritage encompassing Maori, Asian, and English roots, Jordache’s family migrated to Australia from New Zealand, enriching his artistic perspective in a multitude of ways.

Jordache’s practice employs synthetic polymer, oil, and aerosol to capture the energy of movement and the nature of relationships on canvas. His work explores themes such as the interplay of light and shadow, the emotional impact of colour, the tension between natural and artificial environments, and the intensity of human connection. Jordache has fine-tuned his contemporary painting techniques, utilising abstract expressive mark-making with palette knives, squeegees, and multiple layers to amplify depth and perspective.

Jordache’s journey began with a dedication for drawing, with deep roots in graffiti and urban visual culture. This early interest evolved into creating public artworks that allowed him to blend technical proficiency with conceptual depth in the studio. His aesthetic is influenced by movements such as abstraction, cubism, futurism, and post-graffiti, and he consciously operates with a refined colour palette to achieve his distinctly dynamic works.

Jordache’s art is held in both public and private collections, reflecting his significant impact on the Brisbane, and broader Australian contemporary art sphere.
